Sterling was asked to volunteer as a massage therapist for the Clean Air Challenge. This is a bike race from Houston to Talkeetna (I think about 62 miles). A co-worker volunteers every year and convinced Sterling to go this year. I am glad he did it because it started to get us out of the city on weekends. Dakota and I explored a bit while Sterling earned almost $300 in about 5 hours. (I think he will do this event again next year now that he knows he gets to keep all the money).<br /></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612743815521787506" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7v5CGfbXdIiYuhHH64y35o1O6MUQHuBTQ-mJPxj3yp_QtK4xDoiCQk33h8MpOL2ekFyoJMnnR0BCAm0V2tsesPYXFPAexDIpPHUYJkuDtgNx0CGVh5StltwzUzn9u-nolri3fr2GJd3w/s320/181.JPG" /><br /><br /><p align="center">This is the lodge where the race ended. ALASKA!!!I am going to publish a series of posts called "What is in our own backyard?" We have decided to explore our own back yard this summer. We have lived here for almost 3 years and have only done a few touristy things. We decided that since we won't be leaving on any kind of vacation this year, we will vacation here on the weekends. I will try to keep up as we go, but bear with me b/c I am obviously not the best at this blogging business. We hope you enjoy our summer adventures as much as we do!!!Sterling and Amber Rasmussenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16381134000361701069noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2524131370091996538.post-28625478576101891472010-08-05T20:34:00.001-08:002010-08-05T20:34:59.748-08:00<img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.0NXC/bHQ9MTI4MTA2OTI1NzczNCZwdD*xMjgxMDY5Mjg1NzUwJnA9Mzg2MzYxJmQ9Jm49YmxvZ2dlciZnPTEmbz*3ZTgzMWU1MGZlMTU*/MzZlYmU2N2Y1NGQzZGZkOTI1NiZvZj*w.gif" /><div style="width:480px; text-align: center;"><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://w554.photobucket.com/pbwidget.swf?pbwurl=http%3A%2F%2Fw554.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj432%2Fabiggens%2FDakotas+Blessing%2Fe10b757f.pbw" height="360" width="480"><a href="http://photobucket.com/slideshows" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/slideshows/btn.gif" style="float:left;border-width: 0;" ></a><a href="http://s554.photobucket.com/albums/jj432/abiggens/Dakotas%20Blessing/?action=view¤t=e10b757f.pbw" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/slideshows/btn_viewallimages.gif" style="float:left;border-width: 0;" ></a></div>Sterling and Amber Rasmussenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16381134000361701069noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2524131370091996538.post-39542274686610153292010-08-05T13:56:00.004-08:002010-08-05T19:30:52.440-08:00Our Lives As We Know It<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlNWKH3b8eUcG6rcvPtW__18ZrRR7YBvhVcBLb9221kH9_x69YOZerRBXvBqu8-UQyVDG9c54HHY2hbCKbep_p1In0T9SMFLgEfR9A7p_8irLFiLehYQKVVZApXAyd3xZMumHAmk_mFJg/s1600/Picture+615.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5502048921396745650" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 266px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlNWKH3b8eUcG6rcvPtW__18ZrRR7YBvhVcBLb9221kH9_x69YOZerRBXvBqu8-UQyVDG9c54HHY2hbCKbep_p1In0T9SMFLgEfR9A7p_8irLFiLehYQKVVZApXAyd3xZMumHAmk_mFJg/s400/Picture+615.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><br /><p>Here is our little family! Sterling and Amber were married on May 16, 2003 in the Bountiful Temple. We moved to Anchorage, AK in September 2008. We were very blessed to welcome Dakota Valdemar Rasmussen into our family March 24, 2010.</p><p>Sterling graduated and is now a Certified Lisenced Massage Therapist and is working at Advance Physical Therapy. Amber works as a Medical Billing Specialist at Anchorage Community Mental Health Services. She is fortunate enough to be able to do most of her work at home. Dakota is a full time active mini-Sterling. He already has a very funny personallity and is only 4 months old.</p><p>Alaska is so beautiful in the summer. This year we have had a lot of rain. The sun never seems to set, at least not while we are still awake. It is so green and full of life. We have so much wildlife that literally lives in our backyard. We had a bear back there last week and moose out there this last winter.</p><p>We live in a wonderful ward and have started to make some amazing friends. We miss everyone in Utah, but we are glad we moved up here. I think it was the kick in the pants we needed to get Sterling through school and start a family of our own.</p><p>We will try to keep everyone up-to-date on our family and life through our blog. We are open to any suggestions on how to incorporate new and fun gadgets on our blog.</p>Sterling and Amber Rasmussenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16381134000361701069noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2524131370091996538.post-39922083725861696542010-08-05T13:46:00.003-08:002010-08-05T13:53:28.134-08:00It's About TimeI guess it is about time to start our own blog. Thanks for trying to get us to do this a while ago Mom. It just takes a little more motivating to get me to do this sort of thing. My motivation today, Dakota. He is proving to us that he is not getting any younger or smaller. It will be good for me to do something that is not work related everytime I get on this computer thing. Now for you, it is time to just relax and read on to learn more about the Rasmussen family!Sterling and Amber Rasmussenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16381134000361701069noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2524131370091996538.post-40714048652893512132008-11-15T20:13:00.000-09:002008-11-15T20:23:46.927-09:00Amber and Sterling<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnjAa4KqH8Y_fhkP7lGTIxOGfhq174lS7I6Z7Xadn623t8vM0F8ev-EIiQNPdb8C3VqyDATbg_5mS4fEURHJ4TApcI40SdKO-9nUOkaa9Frc8FCk0wVIssbuj_pBKPcxyqL37CF8Se7RI/s1600-h/Mandi100.JPG"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRIt-_OwijDgSBQndb2m-imV0VMsCgDrHq0GdqrvFTB76e0Xydy1_Jc8JSoBhKXrygtDOXOAlUpgdpBQ23vT6HZSH33IB4yO4qUyRoUYe90g0aOLmFO0B9wDClsT-vqbna1UGLo4tl-Ug/s1600-h/Amber_Sterling+2003.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269121370333191666" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRIt-_OwijDgSBQndb2m-imV0VMsCgDrHq0GdqrvFTB76e0Xydy1_Jc8JSoBhKXrygtDOXOAlUpgdpBQ23vT6HZSH33IB4yO4qUyRoUYe90g0aOLmFO0B9wDClsT-vqbna1UGLo4tl-Ug/s320/Amber_Sterling+2003.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipxoYW0FUn8cfBZ7WPh6AxxccAC9cq8V61CLESRFUxY8_r6tW55sURFwouL0ka6GOpDEir4xmcqfvtFIQY_J16yAnz6vKF-F1-eY2x2I9F2U5Ap3T1F8Ltmy2nluSg1xCo7GnVRmJ3rmM/s1600-h/Amber_Sterling_Yellowstone.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269121387260079650" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipxoYW0FUn8cfBZ7WPh6AxxccAC9cq8V61CLESRFUxY8_r6tW55sURFwouL0ka6GOpDEir4xmcqfvtFIQY_J16yAnz6vKF-F1-eY2x2I9F2U5Ap3T1F8Ltmy2nluSg1xCo7GnVRmJ3rmM/s320/Amber_Sterling_Yellowstone.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaPD6_PMc12CUWnBpT3WzH8Sav9lCUHJ6aIa3d1B1RgNN8MnhMCTJFyN7sWIrv-OcQrWA6U56b4g2jOEr_aTkTcP-GTwoWtAOYnzBUmtT8zlBYYHV6L2LMtCE4T5U8rf42ov1KLfVM6IQ/s1600-h/Amber+Yellowstone.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269121380925126050" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaPD6_PMc12CUWnBpT3WzH8Sav9lCUHJ6aIa3d1B1RgNN8MnhMCTJFyN7sWIrv-OcQrWA6U56b4g2jOEr_aTkTcP-GTwoWtAOYnzBUmtT8zlBYYHV6L2LMtCE4T5U8rf42ov1KLfVM6IQ/s320/Amber+Yellowstone.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitDxk16cLsvtcHIpf0XIRlaDb6TsgLJlNiLeE4iOuvt27fQXV15JXesZ8P0NETRuPlqpWa1X8XA12c7o4W6hlBAmzdf28xu0R7kSzvFu3LJ08tpxXW3MDQbao3WSBlxy3Z6xvFATgJ6ys/s1600-h/Amber+Wed1.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269121391688197762" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 215px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitDxk16cLsvtcHIpf0XIRlaDb6TsgLJlNiLeE4iOuvt27fQXV15JXesZ8P0NETRuPlqpWa1X8XA12c7o4W6hlBAmzdf28xu0R7kSzvFu3LJ08tpxXW3MDQbao3WSBlxy3Z6xvFATgJ6ys/s320/Amber+Wed1.JPG" border="0" /></a>This is Amber's mom doing this post. Amber wanted to add some pictures to her site, but since moving to Alaska she has not yet been able to find the cable for her camera to be able to download her pictures. Hence, being the Mom, I told her I would add some pictures for her. </div></div></div></div></div>Sterling and Amber Rasmussenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16381134000361701069noreply@blogger.com2
